In operation since June 1989, the Rogers Centre/Skydome is the first sports stadium that has a unique RETRACTABLE ROOF that allows the sports teams to compete outdoors whether rain or shine, thanks to the retractable roof panels.
The talk of building a sports stadium started in 1923, and 63 years later, construction took place in 1986.
